Onwards to Mercury!

 

On Friday 5 October, the launch window opens for Europe’s newest spacecraft – BepiColombo – bound for the planet Mercury.

Join us for a day celebrating this exciting new mission and find out more about Mercury, the mission, and how Leicester scientists are involved.

The following extra activities will be open to school groups as part of your standard group booking:

 

10:00 - Drop-in tour of Bepi’s X-ray eyes, guided by our space experts. Location: Our Solar System gallery

 

10:20 – Planetarium show introducing Mercury and the other night sky constellations. Location: Planetarium

 

11:30 – Guest talk on BepiColombo by a Leicester scientist involved in the mission. Location: Live Space

 

12:00 - Drop-in tour of Bepi’s X-ray eyes, guided by our space experts. Location: ‘Our Solar System’ gallery

 

12:20 – Planetarium show introducing Mercury and the other night sky constellations. Location: Planetarium

 

14:20 – Planetarium show introducing Mercury and the other night sky constellations. Location: Planetarium
