StarDome has busy week

It was a busy week for our StarDome portable planetarium as we spent the whole week in Grantham, presenting exiting shows to both the general  public and school students.

The whole event was part of the very successful Gravity Fields Festival 2012, a festival creatively exploring the physical sciences and celebrating one of the worlds greatest thinkers, Sir Isaac Newton. There were also some fantastic talks by some really interesting visiting speakers and lots of things to do for everyone. It is hoped that this might be regular yearly event.

As well as being in Grantham all week the the Education Team were also running a whole series of our exciting new workshop 'Living in Space' which was a great hit with the year 7 groups that came to take part. It is based on what it's like to be an Astronaut, how they live and work on the International Space Station and some of the dangers they face whilst in Space.

Finally, we will be adding a new member to the Education Team in the next few weeks. After a successful round of closely contested interviews our new member has been chosen.
