Well this week has been exciting. We were very privileged to be invited to the World premiere of the new Full Dome show ‘We are Aliens’. This film was made by our fantastic in-house NSC Creative Team and narrated by Rupert Grint.

All of their previous shows have been brilliant, so we were looking forward to seeing their latest creation.

The new show really shows off the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium to the full, with amazing images surrounding your head helping to explain how we look for aliens and where we might find them.

The whole evening was fantastic fun with an alien invasion in our rocket tower, gourmet popcorn, bags of sweets, and even ice cream made with liquid nitrogen.

The launch of this new show excites us here in the Education Team as it gives us a chance to explore the prospects of extra-terrestrial life. This goes hand in hand with some ideas we have been having about an alien themed workshop.

We also had a chance to give our Halloween slime workshop a full test run with the invited guests. It went down a storm with everyone from prize-winners to VIP’s, giving them a chance to get stuck in to one of the messiest workshops we’ve ever run! This will also be available as a public workshop during the half term so why not come along and give it a go?

We all loved the new show and we are sure you will as well. It opens to the public on 20 October, the first day of half term; watch this space for more news on the Spooky Science half term talks as well as alien based mischief.
